think he's talking about dead stop acceleration, David.  My turbo pickup
would make the average vanagon look like it was going backwards, but it
doesn't hook up until third gear.  The problem is weight transfer - namely
off the front wheels and onto the back.  Great for van, stinks for FWD
cars/trucks.  We would definitely blow the drag race etiquette of no tire
squeal..:)
