For us older vanagon owners, pre early 1987, replacing this o-ring is critical for cold weather use. Supposedly the o-rings in newer vans, and replacement o-rings, maintain there flexibility much better than the old version. The replacement is straight forward but it is tight. Also, you will be twisting on two very short sections of hosing. Mine cracked very shortly afterward. I recommend replacing these hoses when replacing the o-ring. PN's for my '86 syncro are 025 121 058D and 025 121 058G. The o-ring is 021 117 070A. Some skinned knuckles!! Kerry Lansdale, PA '86 syncro, 160K kstanley@cas.org -----------------
