The day before yesterday a member of the Canadian Parliament (a member of an
opposition party) took his seat - as a symbolic act of removing power -
carried it out of the House, put it into his blue Westfalia Vanagon and
drove away. This was certainly a new way to make a political statement and
gave the Vanagon new powers.
