I tell you what, owning Vanagons has increased my prayer life! I would check the coil. Look it over and see if you see any black stuff oozing from it. It could be intermittant coil problem or fuel pump relay or ignition relay problem. That is what I would check first. Hope I helped. Ken Wilford John 3:16
