I understand that the automatic transmissions upshift very quickly. I was wondering if gas pedal position has anything to do with upshifting. I adjusted my throttle cable so that I cannot downshift with the gas pedal. I did this so when I was at speed the rpm's wouldn't shoot up when it downshifted. If I need to downshift I do it manually. I spoke to another list member who had mentioned lightening the weights on the governor to change the shift points. Just wondering if anyone has done this, and the results. Thanks.
