..........the gas spill is fixed. It was the hoses on top of the
tank.............Now it is the air conditioning.  It doesn't cooll
anymore.  Where should I begin ? Is there a common problem with this or
is it just a leak like any other car and a re-charge will do? should I
convert to CFC free ?

Please start with the cheapest possible solution scenarios, other than
dashboard fans and driving with the windows down.
