Subject: List vendors

Howdy,

I'm going to set up a category in my 'Vendors' section of vanagon.com for
'Preferred Vendors'.  This category is primarily for those vendors who
participate and contribute to the vanagon mailing list.

***  better define 'contribute' a bit more clearly here!! Sales promo's do
NOT count!

If you would like to be included in this category, please write me.

***  so if I write to you I can be a 'preferred vendor'?  Seems so easy!

***  not to knock this, but just stick with listing all vendors and any
suitable experiences/warnings/speciality, and mention if list discount is
applicable.  After that I'd be a little suspicious of any other endorsement.

***  and now to turn the other cheek...  in keeping with this silliness, I'm
going to nominate Jim Thompson/Old Volks Home for vendor #1 as he does
actually contribute technical know how to this list.  As for tips/info/DIY
aid posted to list.....   the rest of you are sadly deficient, so pick it
up!!  How about a regularly scheduled Friday vendor/shop tip posting, as a
duty rotated amongst the so called 'prefered' folks? Naw, didn't think so,
no return on that, eh hosers?

Oh, and do you realize how many VW parts I WON'T have to buy once I finish
the GD'd Subaru conversion, makes me all warm and tingly inside ;)
