Does anyone sell the "main" speedo gear for my van, all by itself?
They have a habit of cracking.  There're speedo repair places in
town that will fix it, they call it "rebuilding the speedo" and
they charge $65 to replace that gear.  That's all they do.  It
causes smoke to come out of my ears and nose...   arggh!

I asked the guy if he'd just sell me the part, and he said "No,
then I'd be out of business, right?" and I couldn't help but
think of Adam Smith and large caliber weaponry.  I had it fixed,
came with a 90-day warranty, and it broke again around 100 days
or so later.  Go figger.
