Subject:SAE 30 wt

Hello Sam,
I would stay away form 30wt oil for summer use unless it stays cool
where you are. I tried using 30wt this spring, as an intermidiate
weight oil. Several weeks ago I spun a bearing on the way home from
work. As the spring temperatures increased I started getting the
intermittant oil warning buzzer, at off ramps and other times after an
extended run at highway speeds. I planned to change the oil, but
working 60hrs a week kinda got in the way. I'm not sure about what
exactly happened inside the motor. I have'nt torn it down. I do
believe that the thinner oil contributed to the failure.
As a result I will only run 10w40 for winter and 20w50 for summer.
I have'nt been able to find anyone who sells 40wt oil. The summers here
in Arkansas get kinda warm, it was 97deg last Sunday. I will also
change it based on time as well as milage.
Anyone know of a source for SAE 40wt oil?? Its what the volkswagen
recommends for tropical heat.
Hoping to get my motor ordered this week.:-)

                Take care!
