Hi Volks, I don't remember seeing any posts on this. For the past week or so, I've been hearing sounds associated with turning the steering wheel, just every so often. I have power steering on my '87. Maybe 1 time in 5, or in 8 or 10, I hear a sound like my horn, but very muted. It happens midway through a 90 degree turn, not necessarily at the extreme ends of the wheel's ability to turn. Wish I could describe it better. Have only noticed it at fairly low speeds, maybe 15-20mph. Am wondering if there's some sort of "fraternizing" going on inside the steering column, and if there's any cause for concern. Next week I'm driving 200 mi to a conference on the coast and back. TIA for any ideas or suggestions.
