I once went a long time doctoring a car that dropped a ground when there was a small electical fire in the engine compartment. I went through many batteries, parked faceing down on hills, and replaced an alternator before someone in passing just happened to mention a missing ground which made me wonder about a unaccounted for wire I found after putting out the fire. Since most everything looked like it still made contact - I just forgot about it. But after awhile and not right away, the charging light came on to stay. Now you know the rest of the story.... Tyrone Big Pine Key, FL 87 Van. GL Syncro etc....
