What I was thinking of was a running the compressor with a DC motor, thus
using a DC power supply to power the A/C fans and control within the
vehicle with out an external ventilation unit.  I don't know what HP would
be required to run the compressor, but I would think it would br more
dependant on the inertia of the aux. motor, and whether a VFD was coupled
to the motor, cutting down inrush current, etc.

Does this make sence to you?
