How waterproof is the canvas in my '79 westy?  Also, what can I do to make
it optimally waterproof, i.e. any suggestions of spray-on products, etc? I
intend to replace the canvas soon, but a new roof on my house dictates that
some things have to take priority (darn!)

At this point, as a real new-comer to the list, I'd like to say thanks to
the many kind folks (volks?)  who have taken the time to answer my
questions.  The help has been terrific, and much appreciated as I progress
in getting my new-to-me '79 ready for its first road trip of any length.
