-- [ From: John H. Rodgers * EMC.Ver #2.5.02 ] -- Yes, you hear the horror stories, and some are true. And any time you buy a vehicle, new or used there is the reisk of problems. And granted, if you buy a used machine, the likelyhood of problems is greater. And on a list like this, trouble stories seem to concentrate, because if there is a problem, there is enough combined experience among the members to generally probive a solution. Fact is, I've got over 200,000 miles on my 85 GL. And only recently have I had the need to do anything beyond the routine maintenance that any machine requires. I' m happy!!! But you might get lucky with an '85, then again you might not. Maybe some of the '85s on the list could remark on them. Good luck... -----Original Message----- From: Larry Wissig <lwissig@MINDSPRING.COM> To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COM <Vanagon@VANAGON.COM> Date: Tuesday, June 30, 1998 8:46 PM Subject: 85 Vanagon - should I buy >I'm looking at an 85 Westfalia Camper. >> 108K miles and very clean.
