Fellow Vanagoneers, Here's a tough one for you. Hope you can help. 84 vanagon 96000 mi Recently had fresh heads at Fred's, along with smog check. Power is not what it was, and seems to run a bit warmer(just to the right of the winkin'blinkin' light, instead of on center or left) When engine is warm, starter cranks slowly initaillly , then normally. Main problem:at times, she won't accelerate from a stop. Will idle fine, but will only move foreward if accelerator is pumped, revved up, and go. Then it's fine for a while. WIll also happen after going over a big bump, like railroad tracks. It loses power, you roll to a stop, realise it's still idling, but will not pull away. Key off, restart a few times and off she goes. Or, pump the accelerator till the revs come back up, then all is fine. Until the next time. Similar trouble-on freeway- floor it, let up floor it again, it misses, then goes. work done last 12 months: heads water pump alternator vac lines coil gas filter lines to tank temp sensor 2 and harness plug I just drove it, it "hunts" for idle upon warm startup. No apparent vac lines off. Pleaase email me at mmoguls@hooked.net or post answers to the list Help! thanks, Pleas Dan 84 Adventurerwagon
