I've been following these threads with interest and there appears to be two main schools of thought. One from the realists, who like to solve problems such as engine overheating, sliding doors, etc. One from the romantics, who like to solve problems such as engine overheating , sliding doors, etc. The only big difference is the way that they tell it. For facts, both will read the workshop manual For interest, both will read about 'what to take with you' There is no difference between the two in that both care for and respect their VW's and that's why we all subscribe to this very popular forum. My webpage has a mixture of both facts and 'factual fiction'. I get lots of positive Email about the 'factual fiction' and helpful advice when I ask for a solution to a problem. My campervan 'Pooh' has a 'mechanical personality' that it gets from its imperfections and the way it is driven. I add the personification to 'Poohs' Diary' so that the both reader and myself can look at the situation from a different view point. Read 'Poohs Diary' - all about the adventures of my VW Holdsorth Villa conversion camper and see photographs at http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~mpages/
