I recall the person who cautioned me about the "U" in that the temperature
differential between the hotter water, and the cooler water and the point at
which it flows into the engine would be somehow shortened etc... like I said,
I did not see any real concern in a "U", especially after studying the flow
diagram, and after all, the heater core itself is really just a "U" with fins
around it!
