Right now I am running "Havoline Phosphate Free Extended Life" with something called "Dex-Cool" I used to use the Autobohn but tried the Havoline because it was cheaper. The blurb on the jug says that the "Dex-Cool" is a special formula that makes your engine run cooler. "Sure" sez I; "That's what they all say." but in this case it seems to work. It is running about "2 needle widths" cooler than before. Maby there's something to this "Dex-Cool". > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:Vanagon@vanagon.com]On Behalf Of > Michael Meuser > Sent: Wednesday, July 08, 1998 8:34 PM > To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COM > Subject: vanagon antifreeze > > > Hi - Wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experience with Prestone's > phosphate free anti-freeze as a low-cost alternative to VW > autobohn for the > vanagaon. > > Mike >
