The operating instructions for the sticker I bought here in Germany claimed it would work the way I described in my earlier posting, though. Anyway, before I'd take the trouble of boiling water (that is, of wasting propane) just to find out how much propane is left, I'd rather simply lift the tank a few inches with a spring-balance. At least in Germany the weight of the empty tank as well as the maximum net weight of the propane filling is punched in the tank along the lower rim. Using these numbers and the current actual weight of the tank gives you immediately a rather exact (well, as exact as your spring-balance) impression of what's cookin' :-) Sincerely Rainer ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | Rainer M Woitok | Phone: (+49-9131) 85-7811, -7031 | | Regionales Rechenzentrum | | | Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet | Fax : (+49-9131) 30 29 41 | | Martens-Strasse 1 | Telex: d 629 755 tf erl | | D-91058 Erlangen | | | Germany | Mail: Woitok@RRZE.Uni-Erlangen.DE | ----------------------------------------------------------------------
