Yes, I've had a continuous problem with my fuel pump which I 've replaced
once.  It seems that running the gas tank to less than a quarter full really
forces the debris at the bottom of the tank into the fuel line and makes the
fuel pump whine. The whining never seems to go away once it starts though.
