John - I'm in the situation of having to replace all the hoses on my '85 GL. VW quoted me $275 just for the compressor to condenser hose. Contacted one of the big A/C shops in Chatanooga and the guru told me he charges a flat rate of $2.50/ft for the hose and from $7 to $13 for the connectors (installed), IF I take them out and bring them to him. Now, all I have to do is develop the gumption to tackle the chore of pulling all the hoses out of the van & getting them down to him and reinstalling them! BOB - WA4RRN
