As an aside to this thread if you own or know some one who has a GPS
receiver you can check how close your speedo is to your true speed.
        You have to hold where you can read the screen and still get the right
reception but it shouldn't be a problem, I have been using one as my
sole speedo and gas gauge since both my speedo and gas gauge broke and I
haven't had the time to fix either one.
