My concern would be with the distributor whose contacts take quite a
beating. It basically doubles the load on the rotor which I find I have to
exchange in my 87 Digifant once in a while anyway. I can't see a big
difference in performance, but that would remain to be tested.

Sometimes when they say it improves performance and mileage they are talking
about the producer of the product.
