Your dealer has the info for converting the R12 system to R134.  If my dealer
dose, so does theirs. Tell them to check their tech bulletins in the 1995 tech
bulletin book in the air conditioning section, and they will see the parts,
and the part numbers needed for VW's built after 1985. It's a very simple
procedure. A new receiver drier, a few O-rings and a couple of adapters for
the R134 connectors.  If you need the tech bulletin number, I can find it for
you.   Let us know what the dealer says now.
