In our Westie, we upgraded the interior lighting quite a bit. We had the same problem, since we both like to read. First, we upgraded the light above the sink to a fluorescent. Then, we added a pointable light to the side of the closet near the top, where it's perfect for somebody in the rear seat. Finally, we added another pointable light to the ceiling right above the passenger seat. It works fina as a map light when the passenger seat if facing forward, and equally well as a reading ligh when the seat is swiveled to face aft.
