Chris, Some shops are cool about it. Looks like your old shop likes to "tax" on parts. If I were you, I'd exegite your receipts to the nth degree to find out what the deal is. See if you have any invoices from a time when you took a car in and had parts replaced. Your receipt SHOULD break down the repair costs into each individual cost. Compare the prices of the parts to the prices you found at your FLAPS, the Internet, or whatever. The answer should be made plain. I dunno... maybe the shop will lose its bulk discount rate from a supplier if it doen't buy/sell/use enough parts. Never having been a buyer for anyone, I can't say for sure. Opinion, Ron? Time for you to scan the phone book. :-( Best of luck, Sam JordanVw@AOL.COM wrote: > > today the shop who does some of the things that i don't have time to do, (or > have the patience to do) told me that "we will no longer install customer > supplied parts". > that almost makes repairs unaffordable... > they said "If a customer has enough time to search the web for discount parts, > then they have enough time to install them theirselves...we lose too much > money installing customers parts" > > time to find another shop... > they will lose customers fast...i had to have my turbo replaced in my audi 2 > yrs ago - if i hadnt bought the rebuilt turbo wholesale, i would have had to > junk the car.... > > for as much as they charge for labor..i dont know what theyre whining about.. > > just bitching... > > chris > _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
