I am also on the hunt for Bronze metallic Paint for my 85 Vanagon..but...

A few weeks ago i approached my van to find that it had these spots of
brown goo on it. Looks like someone put bubble gum on the van..but is the
same colour (more or less) than the paint. Smells toxic like paint. I
haven't taken much of it off (didn't know what it might do) but it doesn't
seem to leave a hole under it (paint)...only occured on the brown paint
(2-tone van) and only near the front door.
Anyone seen this before??
