irresistible:
"an additional $10" is a parenthetical, and ought to be separated by
commas on BOTH sides!

To the gentleman with a whining fuel pump:
A month ago I thought it was MY fuel pump that was whining, but I'm
fairly certain now -- though I haven't replaced it yet -- that the power
steering unit is producing the whining noise. There seems to be some
constant relationship between my turning of the steering wheel and the
pitch/volume of the whine.

But it hasn't failed yet, so why do anything about it? (That's a
"rhetorical" question....)
