Todd Last's transaxle seems to be leaking from where
the sideshift mechanism goes into the main case and
he wanted to know if it was an easy fix.

No special tools required- just the usual here.  Go to
the local VW dealer and take a look at the blown up
diagram of the trans that they should have on CD-ROM
and you can see what is required.  If you can change
the oil in your Vanagon then this little project should
not be beyond the skills required.   Good Luck!
