Michael,
My 85 westy also will open when driving.  I noticed my year has a
recall around sliding door problems, but I haven't acted on it yet.
Does anyone on the list know how to deal with recalls and VW?  Can I
just call a VW dealer with the VIN# and get the work done for free?
