Does anyone know if rear wheel bearings are supposed to have side to
side play when shaking the wheel (hands either on top and bottom, or
left and right?  I'll spare the ugly details, but it involved a large
shed, a winch, a tow hitch and my Vanagon.  The aftermath was 5 very
loose lugnut on the left rear wheel.  I tightened them up, and tried to
check the bearing by the above described play check.  Not terrible play,
but definately noticeable.  Right rear wheel has no play so that's why I
am worried.  Everything sounds fine and feel fine when driving however.
As far as I can see from the Bentley, rear wheel bearings are not
adjustable like the front, is this correct?
