Who can tell me what it is that is uses the electrical connection
on the power steering pump on my '86 Syncro?

There is what appears to be a pressure switch with two white
wires attached using blade connectors mounted on the pressure
side of the power steering pump.

I am concerned because it appears that the connectors may have been
shorting against the exhaust manifold.

I loosened the banjo fitting and rotated the switch away from the
manifold, but I am concerned about what may have happened since I
don't have any idea what that switch is used for.
