Hi You can also check that the earth wire hasn't jumped of behind the cubbyhole on the left hand side. This happened to me once driving at night - sudden darkness. Took forever to find the fault. That was on a RHD 2.0. There is about 8 earth connections on one "crown" of connections and one of them had come off. I don't know if the earth connections are in the same place on your LHD's Cheers Jimmy >>> "Richard M. It's probably the switch (since it affects all lights). My headlight switch went out on the road recently too. I took a bread tie and wired across the large terminals on back of the switch to get home. Junkyards have plenty of switches (make sure replacements have the correct # of terminals). I got mine off an Audi. You can test your current switch by removing it from the dash (very easy) and checking continuity between the two large terminals when the switch is on. The power to all headlights goes through these 2 terminals. Good Luck, Dick Myers P.S. You wouldn't be THE famous Gordon Smith who makes surfboards, would you?
