All this talk about Mazda & Subaru motors is great, but if you live in
the Golden State...Forget it......Never gonna happen my friend....not
untill your Vanagon is 30 yrs old, and I reall doubt if my 80's gonna be
in my barn then unless I just park it or make a tuff shed out of
it....(dont laugh, I have 3 bays that are storage sheds now......)
What I would give to just jerk the FI out, and put on a pair of Dell's
like on my Dormobile.....That puppy Flies  with just a 1600, cam and 36
Dells, but oh does the Vanagon drive easier, and the Dormer is Sooooo
much nicer than a Split...
