Oh what a day.  Thanks everyone for the help with the axle shaft bolt tool.  Got that and spent last 4 hours trying to get tranny dropped from 91 syncro.  Bentleys says to pull the engine but everyone on mail group says pull tranny.  Now I'm literally stuck with trans halfway out but its hanging up - past the engine bolts.  Anyway, had to come home to cool off but could someone please confirm that a transmission can be pulled from a syncro without removing the engine.  Thanks.
