One way to NOT have to deal with any! city (European or American)
traffic is to park/camp in a nearby surrounding town that has
train/bus/subway service to the center of whichever town you're
interested in.  That way, you have no traffic/driving/parking
hassles. At least that's what we often did on our van trip to Europe.
