OK A few days ago I posted an inquiry regarding my (currently) inoperative low beams. I have since then checked out a few other items and now repost in a search for clues so that I can drive at night. Here are the symptoms: (1) With ignition ON and headlight switch on, low beams do not work, but high beams do. (2) All fuses are good. (3) Dimmer switch seems good (I used a voltmeter to check for systematic change in continuity, as resistance, and see that is changed among the three electrical leads of the switch as I moved the dimmer switch from one position to another). (4) all other electrical services on the bus operate fine. (5) Ignition switch seems good, as I can turn on high beams. (6) Do not think grounding is a problem as erratic behavior (consistent with some sort of shorting) is absent. (7) I had just recently taken off the driver's side door panel to unplug the connector to the central door locking system to disconnect it on that side of the vehicle and leave the remainder of the system operative). I ask these question of the listees: (1) is there a relay that could control the headlight feature (I read in the archives of someone who had a similar concern and after wiggling all relays and fuses the headlights came back- this person had NO headlights tho' and I at least have high beams). (2) does anyone have anything to suggest before I embark on the tedious task of tracing the entire headlight circuitry? Danke Mark Williamson Denver, CO 88 Wolfsburg Weekender
