Folks,

While installing a new radio in my vanagon this past weekend, the antenna lead
broke off in the old radio...New antenna time.  Picked up an antenna from the
dealer and tried to remove the old one.  When I try to remove the top nut from
the antenna, it moves a bit than gets pretty tight. If I try forcing it, the
body panel starts flexing in! Are there any tricks to removing the old antenna?
I removed the grill and driver's headlight assembly, but I couldn't see of any
way to get to the antenna from there.... Help!
