Need to check to clutch master or slave cly. the clutch on the Vanagons
is hyd. Try bleeding the slave just like you bleed the brakes. You fill
the clutch master from the brake master, they connect under the dash. We
have had this problem many times and most of the time it is the slave
cly.  good
