The ones for the Vanagon steel wheels barely fit into the seat, the ones for the Vanagon alloys have the wrong taper, and the aftermarket ones I purchased also have the wrong angle. It would appear the seat is a rounded-taper like the Vanagon nut. Is the '98 Passat lugnut the answer, is it also 14mm x 1.5 ? Thanks! Karl >> Karl Discount Tire has the lug nuts that you need. Call 1-800-483-7555, let them know you need the round taper type and the size. I had the same problem with my after market rims which were Ronal R 9's. Finally I got it taken care of. Hope everything goes well. Let me know what happens. See ya, Michael.
