Along the same lines,  I saw an interesting van over in Japan last year called
a Delica.... Made by Mitsubishi, I think.  Was 4 wheel drive with a big 4
banger turbo diesel...  Had some cool brush guards and big all terrain
tires..... .Looked pretty capable to me.... (playing Devil's advocate).
