Hi Darrel,
I don't know what the best adhesive would be for attaching the carpet.
But the two things that come to mind are:
1. Double sided carpet tape.
2. GE silicon seal/adhesive.
You could try a test spot of each, and what ever else is suggested on the
list.
Of course you could call an auto carpet place and ask them.
