Here in Pinellas County, Florida, my Westfalia is titled as an RV. The nice thing about that is I am exempt from yearly emissions testing. Insurance is cheaper, too. Here inCanada our '86 Syncro Westfalia is a MOTOR HOME , that is an RV. As a consequence our insurance is reduced and the insurance covers all of the camping gear: stove, fridge, plumbing, sink, propane tank, water tank, etc. The next time you see a Westfalia from the True White North, forget the funny location of the electrical hook-up, look at the CSA sticker (Canadian Standard Assoc. which is like your UL) just behind the driver's door which states the Motor home >registration number....very valuable piece of plastic. >-Larry > >BTW in Canada, a Motor home can be a legal place of residence (like a snail). > >P.S. In recent years, the EV camper (Westfalia or Winnabagle), which is also a Motor Home, have been required to post an exit sign over the sliding door.
