I have an '88 Westy on which the cruise control stopped working.

I would welcome any suggestions. Here are the symptoms.

When I press the button to engage, I can feel the system pulling down on
the gas perdal to set the speed - but it never holds the speed.

It is as if it starts to engage - but disengages as soon as my foot is
released from the gas pedal.

Unfortunately, there is no troubleshooting info in Bently on the cruise
control.
