I have an '84 Westy with 196,000 on the clock, and 105,000 miles since the last head replacement. (I have learned some tricks for longevity.) It is still going strong, but I am on borrowed time! I also have a 2.1 rebuildable core in my garage. Which engine should I rebuild--the original 1.9 or go for the slight extra power I would get from the 2.1 (it would not have to power A/C or P/S)? Any problems or advantages with either that makes one preferable? I don't want to deal with transplants, at least not until one is proven to be clearly worth the cost and trouble. Thanks!
