I have an 87 GL Wolfsburg 4 speed (w/ 205/70 R14's), I usually shift it
at 4500 rpm and cruise on the highway between 70 and 85.  I try to keep
it under 4500 rpm on the highway, it seems to gravitate toward 4000 to
4200 rpm.  In city driving it gets 15 to 18 mpg, highway it gets about
20 mpg.  If I go 55 or 60 mph on the highway I get a little over 20 mpg,
that doesn't happen too often.
