My best double cab I got up in Winnepeg, which gets so cold, that they don't put salt on the roads, and its very clean, also it was garaged through the winters. I paid (I think), $7500 US fo it. I had to get a letter of certification from VW in Michigan, and send it to DOT to have it stamped. Then, when you declare it at the border, you have to pay duty on it. Depending on how they classify it, the duty is either 3% of the price, or 25% of the price. Yes, if the border guard says its a truck, and not a passenger vehicle, the duty is 25% of the price you paid for it. Its the so called "Chicken Tariffs" designed to keep German trucks from competing with the US makers like GM and FORD, and is still in effect. That's why you don't see the German trucks in the US. Luckily, I was able to convince them that it isn't a truck, and I paid 3% duty on it. Charles
