Vanagons?  No, I can't say for absolute certain.  But this past summer,
when my two year old son was playing in my Passat, he pushed all the door
locks, and came out of the car and closed the rear door before I had
realized what he had done.  My keys were in the drivers side door pocket,
locked up tight.  I phoned  a VW here in Rochester, NY asking where and how
I could get another key.  I was told that if I brought in the registration
or insurance card, as proof of ownership, I could get another key simply
from the VIN number.  Perhaps I was derelict in not putting that proof of
ownership part in my origional post.
