Justice Harry Blackman, one of the last liberals to serve on
the U.S. Supreme Court (he started out as a conservative),
died last week.  He authored the Roe v. Wade decision, and
dissented in every case imposing the death penalty that came
beforew the court.  At his funeral yesterday, his ashes were
carried in a VW Beetle...the guards tried to stop the car
thinking it was not part of the procession.  They used a VW
bug because that is waht Blackman drove when he served on
the Supreme Court.  He loved that car so much he wanted to
take his last ride ever in it.
