If you pop off the instrument cluster cover and the piece of plastic
over the master cylinder, you'll see the back end of some small light
bulbs.  Twist them 90 degrees and they'll pop out.  They're cheap,
even at the dealer's.  There's one over the speedo and one over the
tach.  There might be one in the middle too.  There's also one behind
the clock, which you have to take off the cluster to get to, if
I remember right.

Don't know about this dim glow.  I'll have to take a look sometime.
